BIRDWATCHING TOUR VIETNAM |
Birdwatching Tour In Vietnam Stretching one thousand miles down the east coast of Southeast Asia, Vietnam consists of a staggering array of habitats. Between the mighty deltas of the Red River in the north and the Mekong in the south can be found endless beautiful beaches, fertile coastal plains, lush lowland rainforest and high plateaus with rhododendron-covered peaks rising to over 9000 feet.
Vietnam today is a fast-developing country with [mostly] good infrastructure, extremely friendly people, and cheap to boot. Apart from the birding, Vietnam also has a very rich culture, a wide diversity of people, and great scenery, making it worthwhile to visit for both birders and non-birders alike. In the very north, it can get quite cool; it even snows occasionally, in winter, whereas the south is hot and humid year-round. However, from a birding point of view, winter is probably best for such specialties as Black-faced Spoonbill, Sarus Crane, and Spoon-billed Sandpiper, amongst others.
Since the 1990s the number of birders discovering Vietnam has risen steadily and its unique and exotic avifauna of over 850 species make it an enticing destination for the travelling birder. Established in Ho Chi Minh City by resident birder Richard Craik, Vietnam Birding is a fully-licensed international tour operator and the expert on the ground with the local knowledge to ensure you the best possible Vietnam birding experience. With more than 17 years of experience in arranging travel to Indochina, Vietnam Birding will take the hassle out of planning your trip with a birdwatching tour tailor-made to suit your exact requirements.
So whether you are an experienced Asia birder in search of Vietnam’s spectacular endemic birds or are looking for a more leisurely birding experience combined with fascinating cultural sites or some relaxation, leave it to Vietnam Birding to design the perfect tour for you. Vietnam Birding is the local partner of leading birding tour companies including Sunbird, Naturetrek, Victor Emanuel Nature Tours, Birdtour Asia, Wings, Birdseekers, Birdwatching Breaks and Orient Birding.
Birding in Vietnam is pretty straight forward in the established National Parks and whilst infrastructure is basic at times, accommodation is easily found and food is plentiful and often very good. These parks are very safe, the biggest annoyance being leeches during the wet season. Whilst messy, they do not carry any diseases, and a pair of leech socks and a good blast of repellent will keep them at bay.
These locations provide the best bird watching in Vietnam:
