Bumthang Cultural Trekking Bhutan - 11 Days
Tour code: BCTB-BT-002
Bumthang Cultural Trekking BhutanStarting out from the splendid Bumthang valley, this three days trek passes through several villages in its meandering route through Bumthang countryside. This trek provides an exceptional opportunity for contact with Bhutanese rural life.

Our expert local English speaking guides will take you to villages providing interpretation of the culture. We'll stay in local guesthouses, go to remote villages and hidden valleys, and immerse ourselves in authentic personal encounters. We'll take a look at Bhutanese art forms such as thangka painting, textile weaving, woodcarving, and papermaking. Often you will witness the art forms and creations of Bhutanese artisans. You will attend and participate in two festivals, where the Bhutanese gather at annual celebrations wearing their finest clothes and jewelry while dance rituals will be performed in colorful dress and masks. A three-day cultural trek through bamboo and pine forests allows you to witness the fresh air and beauty of the Himalayan foothills.

The four valleys that make Bumthang is the sacred heart of the country. Besides natural beauty the valley is bountifully blessed with numerous ancient temples and is the revered birthplace of many saints. It was here that the legendary saint Pema Lingpa was born, to whom the Bhutanese Royalties trace their lineage. Bumthang is also distinguished in history as the first place in Bhutan where Guru Rimpoche brought Buddhism.
