The Drigung Chu is situated in an exquisite alpine valley about 3 hours from Lhasa . On the first day we drive to Terdom nunnery and soak in the sublime hotsprings. We also visit Drigung Til Monastery. On the second day we begin rafting and for two days we paddle the stunningly beautiful Drigung Chu. Continuous class III rapids are interspersed with incredible granite gorges and challenging class IV rapids. To undertake this trip you should be able to swim and you must be fit and fairly well acclimatized. This run is quite technical so you will be expected to paddle often. This trip is for those looking for an exciting river adventure in a unique environment. Our guides feel this run is the most beautiful river in Tibet !
Trips
We regularly run 6 different rivers in the Central Tibetan area, ranging from relaxing float trips to challenging Class IV white water. We offer short trips based out of Lhasa and multi-day expeditions to wild rivers in remote regions of Tibet . We can combine a rafting adventure with any trekking or cultural tour from our general catalogue.
