The Upper Tolung Chu is serious whitewater adventure only 1 hour from Lhasa . It is for rafters who have prior experience on class IV whitewater such as the Bhote Kosi in Nepal . You definitely have to be a confident swimmer to challenge this run and you must be fit and fairly well acclimatized. This is a very physical run and you will be expected to paddle hard for at least an hour of continuous whitewater! If you think this is for you..Go for it!!

We regularly run 6 different rivers in the Central Tibetan area, ranging from relaxing float trips to challenging Class IV white water. We offer short trips based out of Lhasa and multi-day expeditions to wild rivers in remote regions of Tibet . Our rafting guides and safety kayakers come from several years experience running rivers in Nepal.

 

All clients are provided with international standard safety equipment including a full wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy vest. We use state of the art rafts, kayaks and equipment.

 

When we design your itinerary we consider seasonal weather patterns, water levels and temperatures, altitude, accessibility, as well as surrounding scenery and cultural sites to ensure that you have the best possible experience on the water. Schedule:
- Depart Lhasa 9am
- Drive to Duelung valley.
- Full morning of rafting
- Hot buffet lunch on the riverbank
- Full afternoon of rafting.
- Snacks and drinks at the take-out
- Drive back to Lhasa
- Arrive Lhasa in the late afternoon
